Ultimate Dubs 2012

12th March 2012 | BY NSNP

The 2012 show calendar was kicked off on Sunday by Ultimate Dubs 2012, the UK’s biggest indoor VAG event.
With some seriously tasty fettled German metal on display, the crowds filled three halls at the Telford International centre just off the M54.

Being Ultimate Dub virgins we weren’t sure what to expect from the show. But after a short recce around the car park we’d used up all of our fingers and toes counting the TDIs - result!
Once inside we began our derv perving and quickly sniffed out the gooduns…

We saw lots of flocked engine covers, not sure how practical they’d be on a daily!

In the second hall we came across a group of guys that had driven over from Belgium for the show. After a brief chat about their cars and an exchange of business cards they invited us over in June to an abandoned airbase for the exlusive ‘Maximized 2012′ show weekend. We were promised that the cars would be as beautiful as theirs so who were we to refuse?!

This redder than red TT stood out from the crowd on the TT owners club stand with it’s paino black chin spoiler, grille and matching mirrors.

Chris Jones’s bagged Caddy van won best in show, which isn’t surprising after hearing just how much work he’s done to it over the last 12 months. You may remember it sporting a red paint job and the pre-facelift front end at last years shows. Keep an eye on the site for a full feature on this…

Fifteen52′s Ghostly Skoda really turned heads with it’s Tarmac rims nestling under the arches - reminiscent of Compomotive MO anyone?

And on our way out we spotted Joey Essex’s Jetta - who’da thought it eh?
