When it comes to extracting more power from a diesel engine, there are a few well documented techniques to help you win more horse power. A remap is usually a good place to start, followed by all manner of upgrades to the turbo, cooling and invariably, the exhaust system. It can be easy to fall into the trap of believing that bigger is always better, “bigger this, uprated that,” it can all get a bit overwhelming to the first time tuner. However, whilst you’ll probably want a soot slinger that does flow more gas and has a more “sporty” sound, size isn’t everything. Hit the jump to see what could happen to the back of your performance diesel when fabricators go mad!

As far as we’re concerned, any exhaust system a small child could crawl into is asking for trouble!
