Revo VW Transporter T5 breaks Nurburgring lap record set by Sabine Schmitz

20th June 2013 | BY Adam

You may remember back in 2009 when Sabine Shmitz set the Nurburgring lap record for a commercial vehicle on an episode of Top Gear. She expertly piloted a standard Ford Transit van around the ring in 10:08 whilst following a Dodge Viper for increased aero. Last week we headed out to the hallowed Grüne Hölle with Revo and their lightly modified Volkswagen Transporter  T5 van to see if they couldn’t shake things up a little…

PROFILE: Darkside Developments, A year on…

21st January 2013 | BY NSNP

Almost twelve months ago we made the journey up North to Darkside Developments HQ in Barnsley. After spending the day with Scott and Ryan the company directors, we were impressed by the quality of workmanship that we witnessed and their knowledge of all things TDI. The overwhelming feeling we were left with though, was a hunch that exciting things were to come from this humble diesel tuning venture on an industrial estate in Monk Bretton.

Last Wednesday we went back to see how things had changed…and boy were we not wrong!

MEET: REVO & STaSIS Winter Breakfast meet

11th December 2012 | BY NSNP

If you’re in the market for a remap, chances are somebody has suggested you have your car “Revo’d”. Back in 2002, Revo became industry pioneers by offering “switchable” ECU maps via the OBDII port and their reputation has grown and grown ever since.

Last weekend they opened their doors to the unwashed masses, hosting a breakfast meet and hog roast at their Daventry HQ, so we went along for a pork bap and a nosey around the workshop.

Nene Overland : The Smoking Camel

2nd March 2012 | BY NSNP

On the journey up to Manor Farm in Peterborough, we has no idea what to expect from the day ahead. None of the staff here at NSNP have owned a 4×4, let alone driven one off road. The thought of taking your freshly washed, road going daily across a ploughed field would send shivers up the spine of even the most care free owner. That is of course until we met Andy Chaplin from Nene Overland.

A walk on the Darkside

15th February 2012 | BY NSNP

All too often these days people go on about “The Economic Situation” as an excuse for not following their dreams and going into to business; from the banks to the local butchers, it seems the downturn is scaring off everybody…almost everybody. We were invited to take a trip up to a small industrial estate in Barnsley to meet two brothers, Ryan and Scott, owners of Darkside Developments, who are not only bucking the trend, but giving it a good hiding whilst they’re at it.
