Ford fiesta Mk6 tdci 6 speed conversion??

Hi has anyone or does anyone know of this being done, I'd like to convert my mk6 zetec s tdci to 6 speed but not sure how easy it will be, there must be a gearbox in the Peugeot citreon range that will do it given all the engines are the same. I'm aware the mini diesel runs a six speed box on this engine but not sure about drive shafts etc any help please....

the MCM gearbox in the peugeot lineup will do it... there's also a version wich can be controlled by paddles on the steering column, called MCP

production started in 2007, so look out for 2008 or later crashed 308/3008/508/5008 etc...

most probably be cheaper to use a focus st170 or focus rs gearbox i am still thinking about going down this route or modified the ib5 box, jamsport charge 2000 with custom three piece driveshafts different clutch and flywheel etc

probably not cheaper, as the gearbox won't mate the engine (possibility) and the gearing is all wrong...

you'd need to adapt or fabricate a support for the mcm, and see if you can mate the peugeot driveshafts to ford outer cv joints

I have to disagree all ford fwd gearbox bellhousing bolt pattern are the same ib5, mtx75, b, share the same boltt pattern can't see ford making a ib5 just for the diesel, six speed box been fitted to the mk3 fiestas with three piece shaft modifying chassie leg, gearbox mounts, going to a peugeot box seams a lot more involved but I maybe wrong

the problem with fitting an ST170 box into a derv fiesta is that you will limit top speed to about 105mph. That is in sixth gear at 4500rpm.

That is excluding all the clutch/flywheel, driveshaft, mounts, gear linkeage, starter motor fitting problems
